Doster was low bidder for general contractor services in
the building of this new high school for Trussville City Schools. New
Trussville High School Project measures approximately 361,000 square
feet with four floors of classrooms and administration in the core of
the building. Additional features to the building will include a food
court, competition gym, band/choral hall, and theater.
The exterior of the structure consists of multiple colors of ground face
block and brick in fluted applications and intricate accents along with
aluminum window and storefronts. The interior of the building is
uniquely designed with fluted masonry walls and a mixture of floor types
including carpet, vinyl tile, hard tiles, and in the main areas,
polished concrete.
Site construction includes the utilities, grading, road work, site
amenities, landscaping, as well as practice and competition athletic
fields. Some unique site features include a woodland site and parking
lots, incorporated to preserve the natural beauty of the site, which is
located on both sides of the Cahaba River made accessible by a
pedestrian bridge spanning the river.. |
