Doster was awarded this project through a bid process.
The project is located west of Birmingham in Ensley and is a 265,000
square foot two-story building for the new P. D. Jackson-Olin High
School. The project is comprised of 90 classrooms including band room,
choral room, drama room and art rooms, administrative offices, a
450-seating capacity cafeteria, and a media center. Also included are
competition and practice gyms with men’s and women’s locker rooms, an
auditorium, automotive service technology shop, collision repair
technology shop, HVAC and refrigeration shop, paint booth, greenhouse,
football stadium, and multi-purpose practice field. Demolition of the
old school and construction of a new parking lot are included in the
scope of the project as well.
