Brookwood Medical Center Employee Parking Deck

Tenet Healthcare negotiated with Doster to provide construction services for the new employee parking deck on the Brookwood Medical Center campus. The cast-in-place concrete structure accommodates 1,744 cars, with approximately 670,000 square feet of deck area. The lower half of the ground floor also houses 35,000 square feet of conditioned warehouse for medical supplies. The dual scissor deck is clad with precast panels, glass enclosed staircases and an exterior insulated finish system. Included in the parking deck is an extensive security system with 150 surveillance cameras and panic alert stations. An elevated skywalk measuring 210 feet in length connects the parking deck to a new atrium within the existing Professional Office Building.
Doster was able to build in a confined area, which had limited access for material storage. Other challenges that were met included working around an active heli-stop located on-site, power transmission lines, as well as the existing parking deck that bordered the site.
