Lake Nona High School
Lake Nona, Florida
Orange County Public Schools selected Doster to be the construction manager for the new $70 million high school in Orlando, Florida. Prior to being selected, Doster prepared a preliminary cost estimate for the project and during our presentation to the School Board committed to completing the project under the published $74 million budget. After completing the preconstruction service phase, Doster delivered a guaranteed maximum price proposal $4 million below budget with an overall construction schedule of 22 months.
With capacity to hold 2,776 students, the 377,000 square foot campus includes ten buildings consisting of one and two-story concrete, tilt-wall construction. Housing an administration building, three classroom buildings, a media center, art and music rooms, a dining facility/central plant, an auditorium, a gymnasium with locker rooms, a field house, a concession building, playing fields and outdoor activity areas, this high school is a construction prototype for future school construction.
Construction of the new campus began in August 2007 and completed in June 2009.
