The University of South Alabama selected Doster for a 60,000 square foot addition to their library. Centrally located in the heart of the campus, and immediately adjacent to a student parking lot, the project site was very constricted which required careful planning and coordination.
The Library remained in operation throughout the duration of the project. All utility tie-ins from the new to the existing structure were planned and installed during various class breaks such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Break. Materials were inventoried and checked prior to the shutdown of the various systems to ensure that every foreseeable need had been anticipated. All of the tie-ins occurred without any problems. The $8 millon project was completed in 2003.
