Norfolk Southern Railway Company, Locomotive Fueling/Service Facility

Doster is serving as general contractor for Norfolk Southern Railway Company. Located in Atlanta, Georgia, the $11 million locomotive fueling and service facility will consist of two buildings and will house a fuel shop, a repair shop, a few offices, break rooms and restrooms.
Working within a 15 month schedule the project will include two extensive phases, with seven phases packaged in the first phase and four in the final phase. The staging will allow Norfolk Southern temporary use of rails, thus keeping their current operations intact.
The Norfolk Southern project requires extensive site and utility work, demolition of existing rails, three miles of new rails, a locomotive turntable, an engine drop table pit in the service building, along with numerous additional pits and trenches in the buildings.
