The new 18 Watercress Green Apartment complex, located in Huntsville, Alabama, is designed to set a standard for apartment communities in the Huntsville area.
The 324 unit mixed-use project, located on the old Monrovia Golf Course site, is built in clusters of three-story craftsman-style buildings holding 12 and 18 units each. The complex forms six distinct courtyard neighborhoods surrounded by green space and a walking trail.
The 25 apartment buildings are built with fiber cement siding, synthetic stone and asphalt shingles. Apartments feature many windows, wrap-around porches, ceramic tile floors and stainless steel kitchen appliances. Amenities on-site include ten, six-space parking garages, a pool volleyball court, putting green, dog park, playground, two grilling pavilions and a clubhouse.
This 85-acre, $50 million development additionally hosts 130,000 square feet of retail space, and up to 100,000 square feet of office space. This development was completed in March 2011 utilizing the HUD 221 (d)(4) program.
