Ross Bridge Renaissance Golf Resort and Spa
Hoover, Alabama
Designed to be a luxury space resembling a castle you might see in Scotland, the Ross Bridge Renaissance Golf Resort and Spa is nestled in the rolling hills of the Shannon/Oxmoor Valley next to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course. It is the first destination resort built near the Birmingham area. The use of the old world building components coupled with the state-of-the-art technology has proven to be both distinctive and intriguing.
The Retirement Systems of Alabama selected Doster Construction Company as the construction manager for this project on a negotiated basis. Doster provided extensive Preconstruction Services and then entered into a Construction Management contract to build the project. Doster planned, bought-out and managed the entire project.
The Hotel has 258 guestrooms and 11 suites, a lobby with high-end finishes including a library and massive fireplace, a restaurant and bar with indoor/outdoor seating, outdoor pool and waterfall, conference center with 20,000 square feet of meeting space, large pre-function areas, and a Starbuck’s coffee shop.
The Golf Club House has a golf pro shop, bar, café, outdoor dining area, and locker rooms. The golf carts are stored in the basement level of the resort.
The full-service Spa contains 10 treatment rooms, a salon, indoor pool, and a gym. It features separate areas, one for women and the other for men, each with a lounge, quiet room with a whirlpool, locker room, steam room, and showers.
This project was the recipient of an Associated Builders and Contractors Alabama Chapter Excellence in Construction Award, Associated General Contractors Build Alabama Award and South Central Construction magazine’s Best Private Building award in 2005.
