At Doster, internships are about more than gaining experience. They’re about building the foundation for a career. That’s the idea behind our IMPACT Internship Program, where students are immersed in real projects, surrounded by experienced mentors, and given opportunities to contribute from day one.

IMPACT reflects the experience we strive to provide every intern:

Influence

We strive to positively influence the next generation of construction professionals by introducing students to meaningful work, strong values, and a culture built on lasting relationships.

Mentor

Interns work alongside experienced project managers, superintendents, engineers, and corporate professionals who are committed to sharing their knowledge and investing in future industry leaders.

Partner

Rather than simply observing, interns become part of the team. They partner with project teams to solve problems, support clients, and help move projects forward.

Apply

The classroom provides the foundation. Our jobsites and offices provide the opportunity to apply that knowledge in real-world situations, giving interns practical experience that can’t be replicated in a lecture hall.

Connect

Relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Throughout the summer, interns connect with teammates across the company, visit active projects, participate in team-building activities, and build professional relationships that often continue long after graduation.

This summer, interns from Auburn University, the University of Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State University joined our teams across the company, gaining exposure to multiple areas of the business. Highlights included visiting The Viola jobsite in Huntsville, collaborating with project teams, and participating in activities designed to strengthen teamwork and leadership.

Teamwork

Construction is built on collaboration, and so is the IMPACT program. Whether in the field or the office, interns learn that successful projects happen when people communicate, support one another, and work toward a common goal.

One of the greatest measures of the program’s success is that many former interns have returned to Doster after graduation to begin full-time careers. While every internship eventually comes to an end, the relationships and experiences built through IMPACT often last much longer.

As we celebrate National Intern Day, we’re proud of this year’s intern class and grateful for the enthusiasm, curiosity, and fresh perspectives they brought to our teams. We look forward to seeing the impact they make on the future of our industry.
