Doster Construction joined Colquitt Regional Medical Center, the Colquitt Regional Medical Foundation, project partners, and community leaders today to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Hufstetler Tower, a four-story medical tower that will expand healthcare services for Moultrie, Colquitt County, and the surrounding region.

The Hufstetler Tower is a centerpiece of the Colquitt Regional Medical Foundation’s Reaching New Heights in Healthcare campaign and represents a significant investment in the future of healthcare in South Georgia. Doster Construction is serving as the general contractor, with TMP Architects leading the design and Noli White Group providing project management, equipment planning, and IT coordination.

The expansion will increase Colquitt Regional Medical Center’s licensed bed capacity from 99 to 155 and support the addition of approximately 35 physicians and 490 new jobs.

The new tower will include a women’s unit, expanded surgical and outpatient services on the first floor, and three levels of new patient space. The project will strengthen key service lines, including surgical, maternal and infant, and critical care, while providing additional capacity to meet the region’s growing healthcare needs.

Plans also include enhancements to the Kate Jeter Memorial Garden, creating a calming outdoor environment for patients, families, and staff. Interior design elements throughout the new facility will draw inspiration from the surrounding natural environment.

“Today’s groundbreaking is an exciting milestone for Colquitt Regional and the community it serves,” said Michael Mijares, Project Director at Doster Construction. “Our team is honored to help bring this important expansion to life and deliver a facility that will support patients, families, physicians, and caregivers for years to come.”

The groundbreaking marks the official start of construction on a project designed to expand access to care and position Colquitt Regional Medical Center for continued growth. Upon completion, the Hufstetler Tower will provide expanded facilities and resources to support the medical center’s mission of serving communities throughout the region.
