A materials and supply chain services supplier is expanding its footprint in Bibb County.
thyssenkrupp Materials NA Inc. is investing $13 million in its coil processing facility at the Scott G. Davis Industrial Park in Woodstock. The company is adding 88,200 square feet to the existing 100,000-square-foot facility.
“In servicing its customer base, the business outgrew the existing footprint and now prepares to further expand its capacities in the Southeast,” a company spokesperson told the Birmingham Business Journal.
Birmingham-based Doster Construction is the general contractor and Design Form in Vestavia is the architect, according to public records.
The expansion will encompass about 20 acres of the property at 148 Integrity Drive. The project is expected to begin this month and wrap up in October 2021.
The existing facility was a $13 million project in 2012 that was designed to expand by another 150,000 square feet, as we reported.
The new expansion project adds to industrial activity in Bibb County that has seen several new developments come on board driven in large part by the local automotive industry.
