Doster is proud to announce the completion of the new Benjamin Russell High School, a state-of-the-art educational facility that will serve Alexander City students for generations to come.

Located at 747 Barbara H Young Drive, the new campus spans approximately 215,000 square feet and was thoughtfully designed to support modern learning, athletics, and community use. The project includes two gymnasiums, a kitchen and cafeteria, media center, administration areas, an auditorium, a two-story classroom wing, a storm shelter, and comprehensive site improvements including paving and new track and field facilities.

The project was delivered in close partnership with the Alexander City Board of Education, architect of record Lathan Associates, and program manager Scout Program Management, with Doster serving as general contractor.

“Completing the new Benjamin Russell High School represents a major milestone for Alexander City and its school system,” said Jim Davis, Operations Manager at Doster Construction Company. “This project reflects years of planning and collaboration, and we’re proud to have delivered a facility that supports today’s students while accommodating future growth.”

Designed with durability, safety, and functionality in mind, the new high school provides flexible learning environments, upgraded athletic spaces, and infrastructure that enhances both daily education and extracurricular activities. The campus is now fully complete and ready to welcome students, faculty, and the wider community.
